Nanosight is based near Salisbury . The business is based on technology originally devised by the founder whilst he worked at Porton Down and developed within another company. The technology enables particles of 100nm to 500nm to be analysed in terms of size and frequency. The particles are visually represented on the user’s desktop which aids the analysis. The device can be used for QA in processes designed to produce uniform particles or identifying particles of certain sizes which may be either, for example, contaminants or viruses.

The business is competing against other particle analysis technology or instruments. The market is growing with increased adoption of nanoscale manufacturing and increased sophistication in testing technologies. The business is growing through direct sales, sales generated through distributors and OEM business opportunities.
